Although Catholic Charities, in Houston, TX, was able to offer me some assistance, with an emergency medical respite-for 1 week. Catholic Charities in Washington, DC, was not able, or willing to assist me at all-not with free pro-bono legal services for the homeless-not even with access to a toilet, when I was stranded in the Washington, DC area.
